Why expand a dysfunctional airport?!

Heathrow worst in Europe for delays
Half of all flights left at least 15 minutes late in first three months of the year.
Heathrow airport needs to be improved, not expanded. It has run out of excuses not runways. If only the greedy heads of BAA and BA could see that they can increase performance for business travellers by reducing the number of junk flights for non-business passengers, there might be a glimmer of hope for this blot on our landscape.
Thankfully, the oil price will reduce demand, and the carbon price will increase costs further, so the ridiculous business case for extra passengers and extra flights is flying out of the window as I write. It will be even further off-track by the time the Government announces its long-awaited decision on Adding capacity at Heathrow airport based on out-of-date economic assumptions >>>
