High Isis and one sad goose

Poor, sad-looking greylag goose wonders what to make of the river Isis — that’s what the Thames is called as it flows through Oxford — as the waters rise.

One brown goose looks sadly at the high Isis (Thames river running through Oxford)

This was today’s scene looking downstream from Christ Church Meadow:

So this is what he told his friends:

What?! High Isis? Brown goose is not impressed

All they could do was bury their heads under their wings:

  1. What a great story. Sounds like a fable by Hans Christian Andersen.

  2. Tusen tak. Here’s another story in photos you might like. It’s not a fable, but it does have a moral of sorts.
