Wet weather worth avoiding

Phil Rothwell, head of flood defence at the Environment Agency, said the “unprecedented weather systems” were causing “very difficult circumstances”.

Now we have compared notes with family members, we are all finally home and dry but agree we have had quite a deluge.  Look at these pictures of severe weather and ‘flash’ floods viewers sent to the BBC.

Meanwhile, a European heatwave is in progress!

Given that I have the choice, am not colour-blind, and can see the speed the clouds are drifting and have experienced the intensity of this rain as it falls, I shall do the London-Welsh drive tomorrow, not today (unless you want a drowned rat turning up on your doorstep).
