Baby, we gotta go to the Library!

Five women walk into a bar …

… and discover it’s a TV studio!

One of them asks:

What about some of the scientific things, like “Is the world flat or round?” and “Do we get energy from the sun?” and so forth …?

Warning: this video may may upset some sensitive viewers, like anyone who has attended school, not to mention the effect it will have on teachers, scientists, theologians, etc. 😉

Here you have the problem, in a nutshell.

The ignorance on display in this roundtable discussion is stunning. Sherri Shepherd may be a comic actress, but she does not appear to be joking on The View!

All I can say at this point is “Go Whoopi! Run for President, and while you’re at it, be a climate change ambassador!”  (Expert coaching offers would pour in.)

P.S. I have just added a collection of climate change books for kids with a link to today’s review in the LA Times to get you started at the library.

Update: my kids’ jaws dropped when they watched Sherri’s reaction to Whoopi’s question about the shape of our home planet.  Having enjoyed Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?, they are looking forward to a new series on TV in the UK titled Are You Smarter Than a Ten-Year-Old?  (One nine-year-old told me if that lady turned up in their classroom and said those things, everybody would ‘sniggle’—that’s a snigger-giggle with your hand over your mouth when you know someone has said something really stupid.)

  1. Lordy, Lordy. I used to really like Sherri when she guest-hosted on The View. Apparently she is terribly uneducated.

    I love Whoopi!
