60th royal wedding anniversary bells ring in Windsor

There’s a peal of celebratory bells ringing out from Windsor Castle this hour (4pm onwards). I wonder if they are welcoming HM Queen Elizabeth II and HRH Prince Philip home from London? I shall have to check the flag 😉

Perhaps they are ringing from St. George’s Chapel, but I am not sure … it seems, there are other bells being rung around town in churches. The joyous sound certainly brightens up a grey afternoon, I can tell you!

Here are some good links from BBC News | UK | :

Tuesday: today is the real 60th wedding anniversary, 20th November 2007. Perhaps our local newspaper will tell me more, on Friday!
