Expecting a spell of snow: magical, whatever its colour!

In excited anticipation of a sprinkling of snowflakes tomorrow, we checked the Met Office severe weather warning maps:

Met Office UK snow forecast Thursday 3 January 2008Met Office UK snow forecast Friday 4 January 2008

The Met Office severe weather warning report begins:

Warning: Heavy Snow Valid from: 0600 Thu 3 Valid to: 0600 Fri 4

So now we cross our fingers after seeing the red colour-coded regions on those maps, indicating snow for most of the country, and go to bed with a little rhyme of hope:

Red snow, green snow, white or blue,
No matter its colour: any snow will do!
(As long as we get enough to make a good set of snowballs.)

😐

Update: the forecast has been updated, so no snow for us this time.  Ah, well.  It is better to have a glimmer of hope and some excitement at the prospect of a natural treat rather than to live a dull uninspiring life ;-)
