The Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead held a Cabinet Meeting in the Council Chamber of the Guildhall in Windsor tonight. On the agenda was Councillor Rayner’s report on ‘Adding capacity at Heathrow airport’ – DfT Consultation (Report and Appendix 1 Word). Cabinet unanimously agreed the recommendations in that report.

The suggested RBWM responses in Appendix 1 form the basis of the council’s response to the Department for Transport proposals for ‘Adding capacity at Heathrow airport‘. That is,

“The council is strongly opposed to any further unsustainable expansion at Heathrow Airport. The suite of proposals that are set out in the consultation document are considered wholly unsustainable.”

… et cetera, as set forth in Appendix 1.

On its website, the council will add advice for residents on completing the DfT Consultation Response Form as soon as possible. Residents of the Royal Borough are urged to complete and return their responses to the Department for Transport by close of consultation on Wednesday 27th February 2008.
